Festival Hair and Makeup Ideas

It’s finally the season we’ve all been waiting for; festival season! We’ve put together a few different looks you can experiment with that will keep you looking on point all day long while you’re rocking out.

Festival Fishtail

We love this hairstyle for festivals (or any other time during the summer) as it’s easy to do and super versatile. To achieve: part your hair in the middle and create two fishtail braids. Take a small section of hair from the bottom and wrap around the elastic to cover it. Lastly, pull out small pieces of hair around the face and give them a loose curl. You can top this look off with adding ribbons, a hat, or fun headscarf!

For makeup, add a gold gem in the center of the forehead by using eyelash glue as an adhesive. Apply a gold shimmery shadow all over the lid and pair with an orange-toned matte lipstick. This look screams summer time!

Boho Braid

Want to show off your natural hair texture? We love this Bohemian-inspired do that takes minimal effort and allows you to embrace your waves! First, part your hair on the side and section off a small piece for your braid. Next, create a Dutch braid following along your ear. Finish the braid all the way down and secure with an elastic. To spice things up add some hair jewels like small rings and gold cuffs into the braid. Now let the rest of your hair do its own thing!

For makeup, create a cut crease by applying a darker shadow in the crease with a pencil brush and applying a shimmery shadow to the lid. Amp up your highlight by dusting a pink shadow to the top of the cheekbones and temples and then adding a champagne-toned highlight on top. This will give a fun unexpected color to you highlight!

Triple Dutch

This look is very functional and great for those long hot days in the sun and nights of dancing. Also, a bonus to wearing braids all day, you’ll have beautiful wavy locks the next morning! For this look, create three sections throughout the hair. Dutch braid each section all the way down and secure with an elastic. Pull the metallic ribbon through the braids to give it an edgier feel.

For makeup, have some fun with jewels and align them right above the brows whilst adding a different colored jewel in the center. Dig out your fall lippies for edge and top it off with a cream highlight for an all-day glow!
